one thing I learned that I was surprised to learn here.
I can't think of any one instance that surprised me (yet). So, I guess I'll say that overall, I'm surprised that I am NOT as stressed about the amount of information and progression taking place over all. I basically knew a LOT would be expected of us within the first week and braced myself. It could be, since I was notified only 4ish days prior to start that I was accepted (because I applied so late!), I never had a chance to "psyche myself out" -- to get worked up over the whole concept.
Then again, I can't think of a class that has I've truly intimidated me before starting. I'm usually more curious and excited.
In the first hour or so of this class, Bill had said something to the effect of "feeling as we were drinking from firehoses" and I think that might have been the moment when I braced myself. A few minutes later we were told to never take notes...the stress was gone. Okay, the not taking notes thing surprised me a little.
I don't like surprises, so I tend to avoid them or even ignore them. I suppose that is why my blog pretty much sucks today. Or is this the greatest ever? (thank you, Jason, for that add...)
